Do you have burning questions about landscaping and hardscaping? If so, you’ve come to the right place because we have answers!
Essentially, landscaping is the process of taking an existing piece of land and beautifying it by changing the layout or design. Landscaping can include adding trees, shrubs, flowers (sometimes referred to as softscaping), and even other elements, which are our personal favorite, like stone, water features, landscape lighting, retaining walls, and more (sometimes referred to as hardscaping).
Landscaping prices can vary depending on the job and materials used. While there is no clear-cut answer to this question, we’d love to talk to you and provide a consultation!
You absolutely can! We have a ton of options for ways to spruce up spots where grass won’t grow. Give us a call, we’ll be happy to discuss it further with you!
Landscape maintenance is simply the upkeep of any landscaping service you’ve had done. This may mean cutting back hedges or trimming tree branches, and generally keeping everything looking fresh! Maintenance is important to ensure pests and other harmful things to your yard stay at bay.
When you invest in quality landscaping, it can mean a big return on investment for you! Compared to a home with shoddy landscaping or none at all, the advantage can range from about 5-12% depending on the original value of your home and the specific type of landscaping you have done.
At MountainScapes by John Deaton, we believe landscaping is a year-round project! While most will argue that landscaping season starts in the spring, there are always things you can do to enhance the look and feel of your yard, no matter the season!
Your beds should be at least four feet wide at the narrowest spots to ensure there will be plenty of room and also so your plants have room to grow and will still look great when they’re fully mature.
Maintaining your landscaping service is important! A few things you can do yourself to maintain are inspecting any shrubs and trees, fertilizing, regular weeding, and keeping any plant beds cleaned up!
It’s important to be realistic about what will thrive in your yard, the climate, your soil, how much maintenance they will require, and the overall look you’re going for. We have the knowledge and expertise to be able to assist you in choosing or you can leave that up to us–whatever you prefer!
